Privacy Policy

Effective September 17, 2026

life, inc.(“life”, “we”, “us”) runs the life app at l1fe.io— an assistant-driven workspace where homeowners run their homes and service businesses run their back office. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the website and app (the “Service”).

The short version

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information from accounts you connect

If you connect a third-party account, we access data in that account only as needed to carry out what you ask — for example, reading recent emails to find a utility bill, or drafting a reply for your review. The connection is brokered by Composio, which stores the access tokens; we store a reference to the connection and its status, not your password.

Information collected automatically

2. How we use information

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use your content to train generalized AI models.

3. AI processing

The assistants are powered by large language models from providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, reached through Vercel’s AI Gateway. When you chat, the relevant conversation, the records the assistant looks up to answer you, and any files you attach are sent to the model provider to generate a response. AI output can be wrong. Review anything important — especially amounts, dates, tax figures, and messages sent on your behalf — before relying on it. By default the assistant shows you what it will do and asks for your confirmation before it sends, posts, creates, edits, or deletes anything in a connected app. You can turn that off for an individual app in Settings → Abilities; it still asks before deleting data, spending money, or contacting many people.

4. Google user data

If you connect a Google account (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive), life accesses Google user data only to provide the user-facing features you invoke — reading, searching, drafting, sending, scheduling, or filing at your direction.

life’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not use Google user data for advertising; we do not sell it; we do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models; we do not transfer it except as needed to provide or improve these user-facing features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with equivalent protections; and our staff do not read it unless you give us permission for a specific message, it is necessary for security or legal compliance, or it has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

You can disconnect Google at any time in Settings → Abilities, and revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Other disclosures

We may disclose information to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public, and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of the business (we’ll require the recipient to honor this policy).

6. Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete records or your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes — for example, invoices and payment records that another user or the law requires to be retained. Backups age out on a rolling schedule.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure providers. Sensitive uploads are stored in a private store and served only through authenticated requests. Access to production systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires. Messages in the app are not end-to-end encrypted today.

8. Your choices and rights

9. Children

life is for adults. It isn’t directed to children under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Where data is processed

life is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. The Service is currently offered to US residents.

11. Changes

If we make material changes we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
